Church of The One

Known commonly to be an incredibly dogmatic and strict religion, The Church of the One is an organized monotheistic religion and it's worshipers are the majority of the human population on Kyse, making it the most widespread religion on the continent.

Beliefs

The Church of the One is dedicated to the god of humanity and all creation: The One, also known as Aedrus in some denominations. The religious tenants are usually spread through a group of scroll called the Ledgican

It is a religion that preaches about the natural order and of hierarchy, with kings and emperors being considered closest to the one. Numerous prophets in history have been noted to proliferate and reform the religion, with the last one appearing almost 400 years ago. The prophets are treated with reverence and in addition to being built for worship of The One, churches are built with a patron in mind, often being named after a saint or prophet.

The names of some prophets/saints are:

  • Ezra, Advisor to the first human ruler on the continent about 2800 years ago.
  • Saint Alexandrus the Scribe, wrote the first pages of the Ledgican about 2700 years ago
  • Reman of Wyn, conducted religious expeditions all around the world
  • Quinn of Barum, lead the first of many successful crusades against the elves on Kyse

Should the countries fail to agree on one, it goes down to the arch-catechists, who oversee the day to day high-level administration of the church, to vote. The arch-catechists are appointed by the Holy Curator.

Individual churches are overseen and ran by a pastor, who give sermons every 7 days to their specific congregation. These pastors also over
